What’s it about?
The desire to emulate or live their neighbor’s life, has seduced people into swimming vast oceans, walk barren lands and climb unending mountains! Yet, at the end of every excruciating journey, the only truth that has dawned upon mankind is – that his neighbour’s life is as boring as his own!! Therefore, the essence of happiness lies not in pursuing what others have, but in cherishing what one possesses..
Vinay Pathak underplays his character as a principled writer who loves his wife but can’t take her constant nagging. Mugda Godse is a total misfit when paired opposite Vinay and also her glamourous image is unrelatable to portraying a Punjabi housewife.
Saurabh Shukla has no comic punches to showcase his talent. Raima Sen doesn’t add any glam to her role.
Anil Kumar Chaudhary tackles a done-to-death concept which was popular in the 1970’s. There are no directorial punches which could retain the audience interest. The very fact that the film interval is without a promising scene to entice the audience shows the capabilities of the director.
Should do mediocre business. Vinay Pathak’s fans will definitely be let down.
